good morning, oliver!

Elizabeth: (points) Look!

I turn around to find nothing, it’s unpredictable whether there is something worth looking at when she points. What is predictable is that when you turn to look at her again, she will have her tongue stuck out.

Me: Wow, yes, a wall. I think I see a crack. Is that it?

Oliver: Ike, are you crazy?! (Of course she wasn’t pointing at anything)

Elizabeth: (referring to me) Chickenhead.

Susie (my protector): Oh, come on!

It was around 6:30am when this all happened, everyday, huddled in the cozy Aspen house living room as we waited for the candle to be lit for our morning verse.

It was dark outside as we shared our plans for the day that had not yet begun.
